The motion for a stay of proceedings with respect to the judgment of the Court of Appeal is dismissed. It is not necessary to address the respondent’s motion for an extension of time. The request for an oral hearing of the application for leave to appeal from the judgment of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, Number COA-24-CR-0015, 2025 ONCA 92, dated February 10, 2025, is granted pursuant to s. 43(1.2) of the Supreme Court Act. The hearing date will be fixed by the Registrar.

UPON APPLICATION by the Attorney General of Ontario for leave to intervene in the above appeal;
AND THE MATERIAL FILED having been read;
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
The motion for leave to intervene is granted.
The intervener shall be entitled to serve and file a single factum, not to exceed ten (10) pages in length, and a book of authorities, if any, on or before February 20, 2026.
The intervener is granted permission to present oral arguments not exceeding five (5) minutes at the hearing of the appeal.
The respondent is granted permission to serve and file a single factum in reply to the intervention, not to exceed five (5) pages in length, on or before February 27, 2026.
The intervener is not entitled to take position as to the disposition of the appeal, to raise new issues, to adduce further evidence or to otherwise supplement the record of the parties.
