OTTAWA, le 10 juin 1999 – Le très honorable Antonio Lamer, Juge en chef du Canada et de la Cour suprême du Canada, se réjouit de la nomination de Madame le juge Louise Arbour de la Cour d’appel de l’Ontario aujourd’hui. Il a exprimé ses félicitations au juge Arbour au téléphone ce jour-même. Le Juge en chef a déclaré “Je suis heureux que le Premier Ministre ait procédé rapidement à cette nomination”. Madame le juge Arbour a indiqué au Juge en chef qu’elle avait hâte d’entreprendre son travail à la Cour.

OTTAWA, June 10, 1999 – The Rt. Hon. Antonio Lamer, Chief Justice of Canada and of the Supreme Court of Canada welcomed the appointment today of Mme Justice Louise Arbour, from the Court of Appeal of Ontario, to the Supreme Court of Canada. He expressed his congratulations to Mme Justice Arbour personally today in a telephone conversation. The Chief Justice stated, “I am very pleased that the Prime Minister made an appointment quickly”. Mme Justice Arbour has indicated to the Chief Justice that she is eager to begin her work on the Court.
