                   Maritime law ‑‑ Liens ‑‑ Action in rem to enforce a maritime lien for necessaries arising under foreign law ‑‑ Owner of the vessel not liable in personam for the necessaries ‑‑ Lien enforceable by action in rem in Canada.

 

                   Held: The appeal should be dismissed.

 

                   APPEAL from a judgment of the Federal Court of Appeal, [1984] 2 F.C. 345, 4 D.L.R. (4th) 739, 53 N.R. 1, allowing respondent's appeal from a judgment of Mahoney J., [1982] 2 F.C. 617, dismissing an in rem action. Appeal dismissed.
