                    Criminal law — Evidence — Assessment — Credibility — Sufficiency of reasons — Accused convicted at trial of sexual assault and sexual interference — Accused appealing convictions on basis that trial judge failed to give adequate reasons with respect to assessment of credibility of witnesses — Majority of Court of Appeal holding that trial judge’s reasons were sufficiently articulate in explaining how credibility issues were resolved, that trial judge applied proper framework to assess credibility, and that trial judge did not misapprehend evidence — Convictions upheld.

                    APPEAL from a judgment of the Manitoba Court of Appeal (Steel, Burnett and Mainella JJ.A.), 2020 MBCA 111, 457 D.L.R. (4th) 372, [2020] M.J. No. 266 (QL), 2020 CarswellMan 448 (WL Can.), affirming the convictions for sexual assault and sexual interference entered by Toews J., 2018 MBQB 89. Appeal dismissed.
